Landscape as a work of fiction (working title)
An ongoing series of photographs paired with text descriptions.
The photographs are all taken in the landscape surrounding the artist's home. All the texts are produced, collaboratively, by the artist and a Generative Pre-trained Transformer Artificial Intelligence.
To begin with, a strictly objective description, for each image, is fed into the GPT-AI. This process is repeated and refined until a text emerges that accurately describes the photograph, but with a subjective response independent of the artist.
This resulting text is then used as the basis for the GPT-AI to generate a fresh description of each photograph with reference to critical theory.
A further description of each photograph is then generated by asking the GPT-AI to form a comparative analysis.
At each stage, the process is repeated and refined until the artist is happy with the result.
